Vin Diesel Praises Dwayne Johnson for ‘Fast 8′ Role Amid Feud Rumors
In a video shared to Facebook over the weekend, the actor opened up about his role in the Fast & Furious franchise, thanking fans for supporting he and his co-stars over the years. Diesel also took a moment to discuss Johnson’s casting by praising the Baywatch star amid their on-going alleged feud.
“The reason we brought Dwayne Johnson into Fast 5 was because of you!” Diesel, 49, said in the clip posted on Friday (Aug. 19, 2016). “There was a girl named Jan Kelly who said, ‘I would love to see you work together on screen.’ So the role that was originally written for Tommy Lee Jones, we gave it to Dwayne and he shined in it.”
It remains unclear whether the two are actually feuding, however, since Johnson’s Instagram post (where he called out one of his co-stars for being unprofessional) he also posted a thank you following the conclusion of Fast 8, calling out several cast members, including Scott Eastwood, Nathalie Emmanuel, and Tyrese Gibson.
There was no mention of Diesel, though.
