Dwayne Johnson Named World’s Highest-Paid Actor by Forbes, Taking in $64.5 Million
In case you weren’t aware, Dwayne Johnson is having himself one terrific year.
Today (Aug. 25, 2015), it was announced that the action star had claimed top billing on Forbes annual highest-paid actors list with $64.5 million, unseating once Robert Downey Jr. who has been a fixture at the top of the coveted list for years.
Johnson’s big bucks are primarily the upfront dollars to appear in the comedy Central Intelligence alongside Kevin Hart, the eighth installment in the Fast and Furious franchise and the Baywatch film adaptation slated to drop in spring 2017.
Coming in second was Chinese martial arts favorite Jackie Chan with $61 million, followed by Matt Damon who raked in $55 million over the 12-month period thanks in large part to his role in the sci-fi outing The Martian.
