Michael Phelps’ Baby Boy Makes Cutest Appearance on ‘America’s Got Talent’

Michael Phelps Responds to Ryan Lochte’s Robbery Controversy
The gold medal-winner broke his silence on his Olympic teammate’s legal issues.

Olympic swimming champ Michael Phelps celebrated his retirement from the sport with his family on America’s Got Talent on Wednesday.

As Phelps joined host Nick Cannon on stage, the audience chanted “USA! USA! USA!” – including his fiancée Nicole Johnson, who had their 3-month-old son Boomer Robert on her lap, while the crowd went nuts.

Phelps told Cannon winning his 23rd Olympic gold medal at the Rio Olympics was amazing, but even more so because his young son was there in the stands to cheer him on. The swimmer said, “Most importantly, I had our first child in the stands there watching the race. He wasn’t always awake, but it’s a completely different experience being able to look up and see your baby boy up there after a race.”

Time to wake up!!! Daddy is racing soon!!!

When asked what drives him, Phelps jokingly responded, “I hate to lose, number one… I started goal setting at, like, 9 years old, and I literally [dreamed] for the stars — [dreamed] for the biggest possible thing I could think of. I basically said I wanted to change the sport of swimming, and I want to do something nobody had ever done before.” Mission accomplished.

Now that that’s done, he’s going to take a break. Phelps posted a cute shot of himself, Boomer and Johnson in the pool on Aug. 17 and captioning it “There’s nothing like being back home!! Great way to spend my first day in retirement!!”

In other Phelps news, he and the Final Five US Olympic gymnasts – Simone Biles, Aly Raisman, Gabby Douglas, Laurie Hernandez and Madison Kocian – will be presenters at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards this Sunday.
