Taylor Swift Donates $50K to Louisiana Food Bank in Wake of Devastating Floods
Known for her altruistic ways, Taylor Swift once again stepped up and generously donated to those in need in Louisiana, following severe floods that killed at least 13 people and destroyed thousands of homes and businesses.
Swift had vowed to donate $1 million overall to the victims and started by giving $50,000 to the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank.
The nonprofit organization thanked Taylor on Instagram on Thursday. “Today @taylorswift donated $50,000 to the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank! The #laflood destroyed our warehouse but we are going to shake it off!” the caption read.
The Salvation Army also tweeted their thanks to Swift for donating to relief efforts. “Thank you @taylorswift13 for helping us serve the #LouisianaFlood survivors by donating to our relief efforts! #DoingTheMostGood.”
A severe rain storm dumped gallons and gallons of rain on the state between August 8 and 14, making it what the Red Cross called one of the worst natural disasters since Hurricane Sandy.
