Why Natalie Portman Isn’t Showing Her Son ‘Star Wars’

Natalie Portman is hesitant to have her boy see her in a galaxy far, far away.

The 35-year-old actress dropped by Jimmy Kimmel’s talk show to promote her new film and directorial debut A Tale of Love and DarknessWhile there, the conversation turned to parenting. That’s when Portman revealed that is hesitant to show her son, five-year-old Aleph, Star Wars.

Setting aside the fact that all the interplanetary films are fairly violent for a five-year-old, the actress explained that the choice for her is a bit closer to home.

“It’s kind of a shame because you know when I made it, I was like, ‘This is going to be the coolest thing, one day when I have kids, I can show them.’ Then I realized – I die in the movies. I feel like it’s kind of a scary thing to show your kid,” she said.

Yeah… that does sound a little traumatizing for a little one. But we’re guessing little Aleph will be introduced to Queen Amidala someday.
