Nick Viall Is the New ‘Bachelor’: Read Some of the Best Reactions

Nick Viall has been announced as the new Bachelor.

The two-time Bachelorette runner-up, who is currently appearing on Bachelor in Paradise, is getting his fourth shot at love on the popular ABC franchise. “I certainly have practice,” the 35-year-old joked after the announcement was made on After Paradise on Tuesday (Aug. 30, 2016). “I’m definitely ready for it, I’m very excited. I’ve had an interesting journey through this process. And I’m hoping this time around things will end up more positive.”

Be that as it may, Bachelor Nation was not too thrilled about the announcement. Why? Well, they were expecting ABC to cast either Luke Pell or Chase McNary from JoJo Fletcher’s season of the Bachelorette. However, host Chris Harrison explained why.

“He has just become that perennial, second place guy who wants to find love and is as sincere, if not more sincere, than anybody about finding it,” he told People. “It’s about giving him his chance to find love. Who deserves it more than him?”

“The Bachelor” feels like a better title than runner-up. Congratulations @nickviall!

As you can tell, the reviews are mixed. The Bachelor will air in January 2017 on ABC.
