Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert Did Not Cross Paths at the ACM Honor Awards

Country music stars Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert ended their four-year marriage on less-than-perfect terms, so it makes total sense they’d be less than thrilled about running into each other.

Unfortunately, they’re both celebrities, and celebrities attend a lot of award shows, which often leads to run-ins. Luckily for Shelton and Lambert, the country music world respects their potentially-awkward situation and did their best to make sure the couple did not cross paths on Tuesday night (Aug. 30, 2016) at the ACM Honor Awards.

To make sure the exes never saw each other, Shelton was never actually given an official seat in the audience, so he sat backstage while his ex performed, and by the time Shelton hit the stage, Lambert had already left.

“Blake and Miranda didn’t request to be far away from each other, but they never interacted,” an insider told Us Weekly. “Everyone at the ACMs knew they wouldn’t want to cross paths.”

To further avoid any awkward encounters or questions, both singers opted to skip the red carpet and leave their respective significant others at home.
