Here’s a Reminder That Mary-Kate Olsen Really Enjoys Riding Horses
Mary-Kate Olsen, child star-turned-high fashion Starbucks client, is also a talented horseback rider and don’t you forget it.
Olsen and her massive engagement ring were photographed competing in the annual Hampton Classic Horse Show in Bridgehampton, New York, on Thursday (Sept. 1, 2016). Olsen showed four horses in this year’s race and rode alongside Sarah Jessica Parker’s daughter, Tabitha Broderick, and the daughters of Michael Bloomberg, Matt Lauer, and Bruce Springsteen.
Olsen has allegedly been competing in this show since 2013. She told HITS that she first fell in love with a pony named 4×4 when she was six years old. She continued to ride throughout her childhood, as it allowed her to have an outlet outside of work and school. She came back to riding in her early adulthood because she missed the sport so much.
“Horses teach you a lot about yourself,” said Olsen. “One of The Row’s first blazers was inspired by one of my first show jumping coats. My sister and I always think about fit and comfort when designing anything which is important in equestrian clothing as well.”
