Due to ‘Extreme Anxiety,’ Zayn Malik Cancels Upcoming Concert
Gigi Hadid’s handsome beau has decided to call off yet another concert.
Today (Sept. 6, 2016), it was announced that Zayn Malik’s performance at the Autism Rock Arena scheduled for Oct. 7 in Dubai has been scratched due to the heartthrob’s “extreme anxiety.”
Malik explained his frame of mind in an apology letter to fans on the ticket-holder 117Live’s site.
“Dear Fans, I have been working over the last three months to overcome my extreme anxiety around major live solo performances,” he wrote. “I feel I am making progress but I have today acknowledged that I do not feel sufficiently confident to move forward with the planned show in Dubai in October.”
Malik went on to explain that fans will be getting full reimbursements on their tickets. This comes just months after the “Pillow Talk” singer canceled his performance at the Capital Summertime Ball in the UK this past June.

Although Malik’s solo performing career is dealing with a few hiccups, his newfound role as a TV producer is already in motion. As we previously reported, the 23-year-old is helping put together a scripted series about a boy band. According to Variety, Malik will be lending his expertise to the project and not just because he spent years in the boy band arena. The music composed for the series will reportedly play an integral role.
The show is tentatively titled Boys and will be appearing on NBC.
