Is Lady Gaga Performing at Super Bowl 2017?
Word on the street is that Lady Gaga is in talks to headline next year’s Super Bowl halftime show.
Rumors are swirling that NFL execs are vying to get Mother Monster to sing more than just the National Anthem at the 2017 Super Bowl. According to Billboard, the “Perfect Illusion” songstress is currently in negotiations to perform at Super Bowl LI, which is scheduled for Feb. 5, 2017 at NRG Stadium in Houston, following the rave reviews she received for her rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner” last year.
“We have had conversations with several fantastic artists about the Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show. However, at this point we do not have a final decision,” an NFL rep tells the publication. “We’re happy there is so much excitement about the show.”
Gaga, who recently released the first single from her forthcoming album, is said to be dropping her fifth studio record “really soon.” (Meaning: It could actually coincide with the football showdown.)
“Every song on this album is completely autobiographical… These songs are implicitly related to things relating to my life,” she recently told Elvis Duran in a radio interview, adding that its release date is “not very far away.”
Previously, it was rumored that Adele was in talks to headline the upcoming Super Bowl halftime show. The “Hello” singer since revealed she denied the gig.
