Here’s How Naya Rivera’s Husband Reacted to Her Secret Abortion

Naya Rivera Explains Why She Married Ryan Dorsey So Soon
Naya Rivera wants you to know she wasn't just "switching grooms" when she married Ryan Dorsey just months after Big Sean split.

Naya Rivera dropped a major bombshell on the world in her memoir, Sorry Not Sorry: Dreams, Mistakes and Growing Up, when she revealed that she had a secret abortion while on Glee. Though she’s since married Ryan Dorsey, the then-boyfriend that got her pregnant, she admitted that she didn’t tell him at the time and only waited until they rekindled their relationship years later.

According to her, Dorsey said the “kindest thing” to her when she told him about the abortion.

“He said, ‘Uh you know, in the short time that we dated, I wish that I could have done something to make you feel like you could have trusted me with that information because I would have loved to have been there with you,'” Rivera told the co-hosts of The Real, explaining that she didn’t tell Dorsey about her pregnancy at first because they were broken up at the time. “And I was like, ‘God, that’s amazing, thank you so much.'”

“I think it was the kindest and best thing that any man could have ever said in that situation,” she said. “It just made me love him that much more, so I thank him for that.”

Rivera, 29, dated and Dorsey, 33, in 2010 when she got pregnant with their child. The couple reunited in 2014 and got married in front a small group of friends and family in Cabo San Lucas. In September 2015, Rivera gave birth to their first son together, Josey Hollis Dorsey.
