But the film’s marketing team still seized on the legal drama and released a new promo for the new film showcasing the “electric” chemistry that first sparked affair rumors in the first place. The centers on an American spy and a French spy who fall in love while both attempting to kill a high-ranking Nazi in 1942 Casablanca.
Unlike the film’s first trailer, this new promo offers a slightly softer tone, focusing more on romance and trust rather than action.
Cotillard is said to be “absolutely devastated” to have her name associated with Pitt and Jolie’s already messy divorce proceedings, according to theDaily Mail. A source close to Cotillard shared the starlet’s uneasy reaction to finding her name in countless inaccurate headlines:
