Jussie Smollett Talks About What He Looks for in a Man on ‘Watch What Happens Live’

Empire stars Gabourey Sidibe and Jussie Smollett appeared on last night’s Watch What Happens Live, and the two just had a blast, sipping on cocktails and dishing with host Andy Cohen.

When a caller called in to ask Smollett what type of guy he likes to date, he said, “Somebody nice, somebody loyal, somebody that’s not a… I was about to curse, my bad. Somebody that’s just not an a-hole. Got a a-hole, but not a a-hole.” He then dodged a question asking if he was into white guys, just as Sidibe jumped in to lavish praise on the actor.

Smollett got a little giddy at one point, so Cohen asked how many cocktails he had imbibed. “Andy, I don’t even know. I’m trying to be classy.”

The actor was able to get it together, though, to answer a more serious question about playing a gay character on the hit FOX show. “I didn’t have any hesitance. I mean, my life is my life in real life, and then on top of it, I feel like Jamal is just a great character. It was a wonderful chance and a crazy, crazy great opportunity so I certainly wasn’t afraid of that. Watch the interviews here.
