Debra Messing Asks America to Forgive Harry Connick Jr. for ‘Will and Grace’ Character’s Behavior

Debra Messing Apologizes to Blake Shelton Over Support for Donald Trump
The TV actress dealt heated comments directed at The Voice coach.

Grace and Leo forever! Or, at least the friendship between the real-life pals is alive and well.

Debra Messing and Harry Connick Jr. had a mini Will & Grace reunion on Harry, Connick’s daytime talk show. Nostalgic for the good ole days, the longtime buds recalled enjoyable memories from their stint on the classic NBC comedy. In Season 5, Connick joined the cast as Leo Markus, aka Grace Adler’s (Messing) hubby-to-be.

Despite their great bond off-screen, fans were not to fond of their romantic relationship on the show. Fans loved Grace, but (rightly) hated Leo after some bad behavior on the character’s part. So much so that the former American Idol judge still gets heat for it to this very day.

“I got into so much trouble almost on a daily basis because people thought that, I, Harry cheated on you as well as Leo cheated on you. People really think that stuff is real,” Connick shared. “Actually, people would come up to me and say, ‘I hate Leo because of that.’ Then they would say, ‘I hate Harry because of that.'”

C’mon guys, this was the early ’00s. That was forever ago, right? Clearly, some people can hold a grudge. Fortunately, Connick’s former TV wife felt it was time to take a stand for her friend.

“This wonderful man, Harry Connick Jr., played Grace’s love interest Dr. Leo Markus. I just want to make this perfectly clear he’s not really Dr. Leo Markus, he’s Harry freaking Connick freaking Jr.,” Messing explained. “Please, America it’s time to let this go. Stop harassing Harry Connick Jr. It wasn’t real. Thank you.”

Hopefully, everyone will get the message loud and clear.
