Backstreet Boys Give Surprise Performance at iHeartRadio Music Festival

New Music From the Backstreet Boys Is Coming Next Year
The Backstreet Boys can't be back because they never left us.

Everybody, get ready to rock your body because the Backstreet Boys are most certainly back, and they’re here to stay.

During iHeartRadio Music Festival on Saturday Sept. 24, the 90s boy band performed a surprise mini-set jam packed with the groups biggest hits, including “I Want It That Way.” Soon after their insane performance, the boys joined Florida Georgia Line on stage for a joint collaboration of “Everybody (Backstreet’s Back).”

If this excitement wasn’t enough, Britney Spears was the evening’s headliner. Basically, true 90s kids were going crazy. But can you blame them? Clearly, iHeartRadio was putting out total throwback vibes that night (we see what you did there).

Nick Carter, Howie Dorough, AJ McLean, Brian Littrell, and Kevin Richardson reminded us that they still got it after more than 20 years later. Although the Backstreet Boys never “technically” left us, we believe this comeback is their most major yet.

This week, the long-running group announced their residency in Las Vegas, titled Backstreet Boys: Larger Than Life. The band is following after other artists who have had a successful residency, like Britney Spears, Celine Dion, and more recently Jennifer Lopez.

“We’re going to call the show Larger Than Life, and we’re taking that theme and we’re going to run with it,” said Richardson. “What can you expect?”

Likewise, Littrell boldly asserts that fans familiar with the normal Backstreet Boys show should expect it to be “that on steroids.”

“We’re excited to bring our experience from being a touring act with all of our hits to Vegas, so that it becomes something that you’ll never forget,” Carter explained.

We don’t know about you, but the 90s kid inside of us is screaming our heads off. If we play our cards right, maybe *NSYNC will make a comeback too. Here’s to wishful thinking!

If you are ready to invest your last hard earned dollar in this epic event, tickets for Backstreet Boys: Larger Than Life shows go on sale Oct 1. Catch the boys on tour at The AXIS at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino on March 1, 2017.
