WATCH: Seth Meyers Recaps the First Presidential Debate, From Trump’s Interruptions to Clinton’s Shimmy
Seth Meyers outlined the so-called highlights of the first presidential debate on Monday night (Sept. 26, 2016) two hours after it ended.
Meyers analyzed the debate between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump in his “Closer Look” segment on a special edition of Late Night, beginning with Trump’s preparation for the broadcast (or lack thereof) and its dramatic introduction.
“Based on that intro, you’d think the debate was taking place inside the UFC Octagon,” commented Meyers.
The Late Night host also offered some neurological insight as to why Trump was unable to memorize certain figures ahead of the big night.
“His head doesn’t have room for facts and figures because it has to hold seven words.”
Meyers also discussed the nerve of journalists for fact-checking the candidates’ commentary, Clinton’s “patented lukewarm zingers,” and Trump’s beautiful temperament.
