Speaking with Entertainment Tonight at Revlon’s Annual Philanthropic Luncheon on Tuesday (Sept. 27, 2016), Cox stated, “It’s not about [Jennifer]. I feel like we’re exacerbating it by even talking about it.”
When news hit that Jolie filed for divorce from Pitt last week, the memes and gifs of Aniston either LOLing or smirking like “I told you so,” went viral on the Internet. Aniston and Pitt divorced in 2005 amid rumors the actor had been cheating with Jolie on the set of Mr. and Mrs. Smith.
Aniston’s husband, Justin Theroux, also calls dragging his wife into the Brangelina mess “nonsense.”
“There’s an endless appetite for trash, apparently – though everyone would say that they don’t have that appetite,” Theroux told Business Insider (via People). “But I think a lot of people do because people buy it. But there are bigger things to bitch about. It’s shocking how much bandwidth things can take up when there are far more important things going on in the world.”
Theroux, who is out promoting his upcoming thriller The Girl on the Train, added how sorry he feels for the Jolie-Pitt children. “As a child of divorce, all I can say is that’s terrible news for those children and that’s all you can really say.”
