There’s no bad blood here.
Earlier this week, Naomi Watts celebrated her 48th birthday. She marked the occasion by sharing a throwback image of herself in a vintage baby stroller with this caption: “Another birthday!! #eek But I think I’m younger than this #vintagestroller?? Not quite sure what’s happening here… #eek #70’s #photoop #oldschool #raisedbyartists.” But it was one particular comment on the post that ignited speculation among fans.
Watts’ now-estrange partner Liev Schreiber, 48, wrote, “Happy Birthday Sweetheart.”
Immediately after, the comments section was flooded with people both lamenting the end of the Hollywood couple and hoping against hope that they will somehow find a way to make it work.
Just days before her birthday, she and Schreiber announced that they had decided to end their relationship. Here’s their full statement:
“Over the past few months we’ve come to the conclusion that the best way forward for us as a family is to separate as a couple. It is with great love, respect and friendship in our hearts that we look forward to raising our children together and exploring this new phase of our relationship. While we appreciate your curiosity and support, we ask the press to be mindful of our children and respect their right to privacy.”
The former couple has two sons together, Sasha, 9, and Sammy, 7.
