Sources Say Angelina Jolie and Her Kids Are Healing Together in Therapy

An inside source says that Angelina Jolie is “staying strong for her kids” as her family navigates their life after Jolie’s divorce from Brad Pitt.

The source tells People magazine that Jolie and her kids are undergoing treatment in therapy. “It’s been a traumatic situation,” adds the family insider.

Jolie and her six children are currently residing in a rental home, away from Pitt, with friends and her brother James Haven. A source close to Pitt tells the magazine that the actor is “absolutely devastated and heartbroken” by the events that unfolded after the announcement of their divorce and how these events have been “wrongfully portrayed” in such a way that threatens their family’s ability to “heal and move forward.”

Another source tells People that Jolie and the kids have been watching movies and playing in the pool over the past weeks. “They didn’t leave the rental house for days,” they say. “It was hard for all of them. They are used to more activities and more entertainment so it’s difficult for them to just stay at the house. The younger kids don’t understand what’s going on.”

It’s been reported that Jolie wants sole custody over their children while Pitt wants shared custody. The couple agreed to a temporary plan (a Structured Decision Making Plan) recommended by the Los Angeles Country Department of Children and Family Services where a therapist is present for Pitt’s first meeting with his children. Both Pitt and Jolie will also undergo individual counseling. Since the divorce, it’s rumored that Pitt volunteered to undergo drug and alcohol testing after allegations of child abuse were brought against him.

“Brad loves his children more than anything in this world, and they matter more than anything else to him,” Pitt’s source told People. “He will do whatever it takes to be with them, now and always.”
