Céline Dion Says She’s Only Been with One Man in Her Life

Céline Dion admitted her late husband René Angélil has been the only man she was ever intimate with.

Speaking with CBS News over the weekend about her husband’s death and how she is coping, Dion said, “For me especially, and my children, to see the man of my life die a little bit more every day – and when he left, it was kind of a relief for me that the man that I love, the only man that I kissed, the only man that I loved … I never kissed another man in my life. So the man of my life was my partner, and we were one. So when he stopped suffering, I said to myself, ‘He’s okay. And he deserves not to suffer.’”

Angélil died in January after a years-long battle with throat cancer, and Dion has been struggling with the loss, saying she will probably never find someone else. “I love him. I’m still in love with him.”

“My Heart Will Go On” singer added she is finding strength with her children – René-Charles, 15, and twins Eddy and Nelson, 6 – her friends and her fans.

“I have the love of my children. I have the love of my fans. I love the people that I work with,” she added. “So my life is not empty of love. But there’s a song from Sia, ‘I go to sleep and imagine that you’re there with me.’ And I go to bed with him. And I come on stage with him. And so I’m still married to him.”

Dion first met Angélil in 1980 when she was 12 and he was 38. In 1987, they began a relationship and eventually got engaged in 1991. They married in December 1994.
