Is Perrie Edwards Shading Zayn Malik in Little Mix’s New Single?

Perrie Edwards is seemingly hinting at Zayn Malik’s lack of sexual prowess in Little Mix’s new single, “Shout Out to My Ex”. As if the title doesn’t already seem like a big dig at the former One Direction singer, Edwards, who was engaged to Malik from 2013 to 2015, mocks a certain ex-boyfriend’s  less-than-stellar skills in the bedroom on the track.

“I hope she gettin’ better sex / Hope she ain’t fakin’ it like I did, babe,” she sings.

Perrie also seems to take aim at the heavily inked Malik, who recently had his tattoo of her face covered up on his arm, crooning, “Guess I should say thank you / For the ‘hate yous’ and the tattoos / Oh baby I’m cool by the way / Ain’t sure I loved you anyway.” Oof!

I think it’s always easier to write about your experiences through music because more people can relate to them anyway,” Perrie’s bandmate, Jesy Nelson, tells The Sun of the song. “It is a lot more mature, this album. There’s a lot of things that have been said that perhaps nobody has heard yet, if you know what I mean.”

Perrie and Malik started dating in 2012 after having both competed on U.K’s The X Factor. Since the breakup last year, Malik has been dating model Gigi Hadid.

Last August, Malik seemingly dissed Perrie and her girl group when he expressed that he prefers Fifth Harmony over Little Mix. So, maybe this is just the start of a musical rivalry.
