Tommy Ford, best known as Martin Lawrence’s pal on the hit ’90s sitcom Martin, has passed away at the age of 52.

According to TMZ, an aneurysm ruptured in the actor’s abdomen and he has been on life support since the weekend. Unfortunately, his health has only declined, so today (Oct. 12, 2016) Ford’s family decided to turn off the machines keeping him alive.

“It is with great sadness that we announce the untimely passing of our beloved Son [sic], father, brother, husband, and friend Tommy Mykhal Ford,” Ford’s family shared in a statement, via People. “On behalf of the family, we would like to thank everyone for their love, support and prayers. Funeral arrangements will be forthcoming. Please respect the privacy of the Ford family during our time of grief.”

For five years, Ford played Tommy Strawn, Martin’s scheming friend and confidante on the beloved Fox show. A source with People says the entire cast of Martin plans to come together to remember Ford in the coming days.
