Ariel Winter Doesn’t Care If You Hate Her Body

Ariel Winter has no time for your negativity.

The Modern Family star, who has already made it known that she isn’t shy about showing off her curves, knows that trolls will continues trolling — so she’s learned to not acknowledge them when they post mean comments about her body on Twitter and Instagram.

“It’s definitely hard being self-conscious and having the world be able to tell you how they feel about you. Before Twitter and Instagram, if you felt a certain way about a person you didn’t know, you couldn’t tell them. Now I wake up and I have tweets to me about how I’m a fat, ugly blah-blah,” she tells Seventeen, gracing the publication’s November 2016 issue in an adorable yell0w-and-black romper. “When I was younger, it took a lot more of a toll on me than it does now. Three or four years ago, I would have been devastated, like, Why do people feel this way about me? I’m just being me. My sister helped me understand that people will say those things regardless of how you look.”

She adds, “I tell myself every day, ‘I look fabulous.'”

Though she still receives tons of negative remarks about her body these days, Winter vows she’ll never cave in and quit social media.

“I definitely have pushed myself to deal with the good and the bad because I feel there are so many girls who need to hear positivity,” she explains. “I feel like as many of us women who can band together  and discuss things in a positive way will be so beneficial. Losing one person in that discussion wouldn’t be helpful.”

As for that revealing graduation dress that caused a frenzy in the comment section of her Instagram? Winter doesn’t care if you hate looking at her boobs.

“I looked great in it, I loved it, and that’s all that matters to me,” she says. “There are so many other issues in the world that are more important than my graduation dress showing a little underboob.”
