Inside Brad Pitt’s First Meeting with His Kids Since Angelina Jolie Split
The meeting took place at a location that both parties had previously agreed to, according to Us Weekly. Per the estranged couple’s temporary custody agreement, a therapist accompanied Pitt to oversee the session. However, sources tell the publication that not all six children — Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Knox and Vivienne — were present for the reunion.
As previously reported, Pitt agreed to a parenting plan that would give Jolie temporary physical custody of their children. Though both parents still share legal custody, the kids are currently staying with Jolie and her brother, James Haven, at an $8.1 million rental home in Malibu, Calif.
Pitt is said to be in “bad shape” since the divorce filing, which came after the actor allegedly had a physical altercation with his child during a flight from France to the U.S. Since then, Jolie is seeking sole custody of all six of the kids.
Sources says Jolie is “staying strong for her kids” and trying to heal with them through therapy, telling People, “It’s been a traumatic situation.”
“They didn’t leave the rental house for days,” discloses an insider. “It was hard for all of them. They are used to more activities and more entertainment so it’s difficult for them to just stay at the house. The younger kids don’t understand what’s going on.”
