Kim Kardashian Resurfaces as MediaTakeOut Apologizes for Fake Robbery Claims
Almost two weeks since her terrifying robbery, Kim Kardashian was spotted out for the first time in Los Angeles.
The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star, who recently ditched her own party to hide out at her house after she was robbed at gunpoint by five masked men in Paris, made a quick appearance in Beverly Hills when she went to dinner with a friend at a local Italian restaurant. Ditching her fancy duds for a plain black hoodie, shorts and sneakers, the mom-of-two kept her head down and tried to remain incognito as she grabbed a bite to eat.
“She was with security,” an onlooker told E! News. “She made a brief, 30-minute trip to a restaurant in Beverly Hills. She was with a female friend and looked very downcast and somber, not wanting to be seen.”
This was the first time Kardashian had been photographed since she returned to the west coast following the heist, where more than $10 million worth of jewelry were stolen from her. That same night, Kardashian’s little sister, Kendall Jenner, attended her first public appearance since the robbery.
The rare sighting came just hours before MediaTakeOut, the publication Kardashian is suing for defamation, apologized for publishing articles which claimed the 35-year-old had faked the robbery for insurance money.
“We can understand how reports questioning if the robbery in fact took place can be hurtful, and so we apologize,” the outlet wrote in a new story item. “No one deserves to go through such a traumatic experience. Kim is not just celebrity, she is a person, a wife and a mother – who in no way deserved what happened to her.”
They added, “We wish her the best as she emotionally recovers from the traumatic incident.”
The word’s still out if Kardashian plans to move forward with her lawsuit.
