Rose McGowan publicly reached out to Shannen Doherty, who is currently battling breast cancer.

Rose McGowan posted a series of powerful tweets on Thursday (Oct. 13, 2016), writing she was raped by a top Hollywood executive.

Following the detailed accounts by women of unwelcome advances by Donald Trump in recent days and using the trending hashtag #WhyWomenDon’tReport, McGowan wrote, “A (female) criminal attorney said because I’d done a sex scene in a film I would never win against the studio head.”

The actress continued, “it’s been an open secret in Hollywood/Media & they shamed me while adulating my rapist… Because my ex sold our movie to my rapist for distribution.” She finished by stating: “It is time for some goddamned honesty in this world.”

Actress Amber Tamblyn also penned a new opinion piece for Glamour about Trump and his misogynistic behavior, while Lady Gaga, a rape survivor, expressed her gratitude for the brave women speaking out against the Republican presidential nominee.
