The New 'Fifty Shades Darker' Trailer Surpassed 'Star Wars' for Most Views in 24 Hours
The brand new trailer for Fifty Shades Darker dethroned Star Wars: The Force Awakens for most video views in a 24-hour timeframe

If you ever wanted to have a more intimate experience with the Fifty Shades franchise, here’s your chance.

According to Deadline, director James Foley revealed Friday (Oct. 14, 2016) that virtual reality technology is being utilized to bring Fifty Shades Darker even closer to its fans.

“Yeah, there’s marketing materials for behind-the scenes [of Fifty Shades Darker], where after we finished shooting for the day, the actors would stay over and VR people would re-create a facsimile of the scene,” Foley told audience members during a VR event on the Paramount Pictures lot.

No further details were revealed, but we take this to mean you will be able to get up close and personal with Anatasia Steele (Dakota Johnson) and Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan) in some fashion or another.

Foley added, “My own personal instinct is that cinema is going to move to VR because it’s an extension of the visual language. For myself, watching the material they generated expanded my brain.”

Fifty Shades Darker returns to the big screen ahead of Valentine’s Day 2017.
