WATCH: Frank Ocean’s First Interview in Three Years Is Only Slightly Longer than His ‘Blonde’ Interludes
Ocean fielded a few questions from the press on Tuesday (Oct. 18, 2016) at the White House State Dinner with his mother (and partner-in-wine-drinking), Katonya Breaux, by his side as his date. When asked what he was most looking forward to doing that night, Ocean replied: “Asking Obama if he had fun these last eight years. Just congratulating him also.”
The reporter asked him about his choice to wear Vans sneakers in the White House, whether he ever saw himself attending the state dinner, and why he didn’t support Hillary Clinton’s campaign trail via performance like other pop music artists.
“I don’t know. We’re running out of time, I think,” said Ocean. “Might have to catch [Clinton] in four years.”
