Justin Timberlake Might Be in Big Trouble for Posting a Voting Selfie
Justin Timberlake might have broken the law by taking a photo while voting in his hometown.
The “Can’t Stop the Feeling” singer flew to Memphis, Tenn. on Monday (Oct. 24, 2016) to cast his ballot in this year’s election and, although his selfie was meant to encourage his followers to vote, he could reportedly face jail time.
“Hey! You! Yeah, YOU! I just flew from LA to Memphis to #rockthevote !!! No excuses, my good people! There could be early voting in your town too. If not, November 8th!,” he wrote on Instagram after voting early. “Choose to have a voice! If you don’t, then we can’t HEAR YOU! Get out and VOTE! #excerciseyourrighttovote.”
TMZ reports Timberlake could go to jail for 30 days and a $50 fine since it’s against the law for Tennessee voters to take photos while in the booth. He has not yet been charged, but sources tell the website that his case is “under review” with the DA.
