Vanessa Hudgens Accused of Cultural Appropriation (Yes, Again)
Vanessa Hudgens has once again been accused of cultural appropriation after showing off her latest hairstyle on Snapchat.
On Sunday (Oct. 23, 2016), Hudgens took to Snapchat to show off her new box braids alongside the caption, “Yaaas braids.”
It didn’t take long for the internet to let Hudgens know just how displeased they were.

Hudgens has been accused of cultural appropriation several times in the past. The actress has been photographed wearing bindis, saris, feather headdresses, tribal body paint, and even a dream catcher in her hair. Hudgens has yet to comment on the backlash — which should come as no surprise as she never has before — but she ditched the braids when she the hit the red carpet at last night’s (Oct. 24, 2016) Elle Women in Hollywood Awards.
