‘Joanne’ Just Became Lady Gaga’s Fourth No. 1 Album

Are Lady Gaga and Taylor Kinney Getting Back Together?
It’s that time of the week again when the celebrity weeklies hit the newsstands

Lady Gaga has a million reasons to celebrate this week as her fifth studio album, Joanne, became her fourth to hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200 album chart, according to Billboard.

Joanne beat industry expectations, selling 201,000 “equivalent album units” since its release on Oct. 21, 2016. Equivalent Album Units is the measurement Nielsen Music uses to measure sales, combining full album purchases, single track purchases and streaming data.

More exciting, though, is that this means Gaga is now the first woman of the decade to have four No. 1 albums. She has now released more No. 1s in the 2010s than both Beyoncé and Taylor Swift. Also of note: Joanne scored year’s second-biggest debut for a female artist, following only Beyoncé’s Lemonade.

Part of that may have to do with the fact that Gaga was in full promotion mode during the past couple weeks, performing songs from Joanne on Saturday Night Live and The Howard Stern Show. Though it probably has more to do with the fact that the album, as we all know by now, is fantastic. Stream Joanne below.
