Lady Gaga Earns the No. 1 Spot on the Artist 100 Chart for the First Time Ever
For the first time ever, Gaga is officially the number one musical artist in the U.S., catapulting from the No. 51 spot to the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Artist 100 Chart.
The Billboard Artist 100 Chart is a blend of measurements from all of Billboard’s most important data tracking charts including the Billboard Hot 100, Top Album Sales, and the Social 50. The combined measurements track which artist is having the biggest impact on the music industry at any given moment, so it is no surprise Gaga earned the top spot.
While Gaga is surely enjoying the latest addition to her resume, she will soon have even more cause to celebrate. Joanne, which already sold more than 170,000 (201,000 SPS) copies in the US during its first week, is slated to sell an additional 40,000 (60,000 – 65,000 SPS) in week two, Hits Daily Double reports.
If Joanne’s sales do in fact reach those numbers, it will take a take a spot in the Top 5 of this week’s Billboard Album 200.
