WATCH: Madonna Supports Hillary Clinton in New York City with a Surprise Performance

Madonna took over Washington Square Park in New York City on Election Day Eve in support of presidential candidate, Hillary Clinton.

Madonna invited her fans to join her in Washington Square Park to “go hard for Hillary Clinton” via social media on Monday night (Nov. 7, 2016) in the same way she called for support ahead of her pop-up performance at Place de la République following the Nov. 13 attacks in Paris.

Surrounded by a group comprised primarily of NYU students, Madonna performed covers of John Lennon’s “Imagine” and other classic hits in addition to her own songs, like “Rebel Heart” and “Like A Prayer.”

“This rally, this surprise, impromptu support rally for Hillary Rodham Clinton is a concert that is about unifying us and is about keeping America great, not making America great,” said Madonna. “And how are we going to keep America great? We’re gonna elect a president that does not discriminate against women, that does not discriminate against the LGBT community, that does not discriminate against people of color, that does not want to build a wall around our country and separate us from the rest of the world.”

“This is a concert about peace, okay? And we are trying to elect, we are going to elect a president that is going to keep America the great country that it is and has the potential to be.”

“Vote with your heart, vote with your mind, vote with your spirit, vote with your soul,” she added. “Save this country, please.”
