WATCH: This ‘Valerian’ Trailer with Cara Delevingne and Rihanna Is a Visual Feast for the Eyes

The first teaser for Luc Besson’s Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets has finally landed, giving us a glimpse of just how big and beautiful this space-based thriller truly is.

Starring Dane DeHaan and Cara Delevingne, the flick is said to have cost $180 million to make. With its debut teaser jammed packed with CGI universes and set to the the tune of The Beatles’ “Because” — the first time the iconic group licensed the song for a trailer — you can see just why Valerian cost such a pretty penny to produce.

Oh, did we also mention that Rihanna — with golden blonde hair! — appears in a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment in the trailer as well? Decked out in a Cabaret-esque costume, she’s totally giving off major “Umbrella” vibes.

Rihanna was my first wish,” Besson told Entertainment Weekly. “First, because of her voice and the way she smiles and looks and how she expresses herself. Second, because you know she won’t be intimidated on the set. She plays stadiums with 100,000 people. You know that girl isn’t shy about the camera and the crew and all this.”

Also starring John Goodman, Clive Owen, Ethan Hawke, and Herbie Hancock, the movie is based on the French comic series, Valerian and Laureline.

Valerian is due out in theaters on July 21, 2017.
