Report: Billy Bush Is Getting Courted by Breitbart for New Role
After the Washington Post shared the infamous clip of then-Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump and Billy Bush gleefully discussing groping women without their permission before the filming of an Access Hollywood segment, the TV personality’s career has been in free-fall. But now, just one month later, it appears Bush might already have a new job lined up. According to Page Six, the 45-year-old host is being approached by the hard-right leaning website Breitbart News.
“They are trying to recruit Billy Bush,” a source said. “They want to expand covering Hollywood in a big way — and think Billy would be perfect for the job.”
The conservative news outlet had been a staunch supporter of Trump’s campaign. Steven Bannon, who was chief executive of the New York businessman’s election run, was the president of Breitbart News prior to joining the campaign.
Bush is reportedly not bound by a “noncompete clause” in his settlement with NBC, so his move to Breitbart is a very real possibility. But according to a Bush insider, Breitbart might be too small a gig for Bush, who is used to high-profile positions.
“Billy’s ego is big,” shared another source. “He likes to be a TV star, and would want to go to a rival like ABC or CBS.”
