Selena Gomez “might be” attending the 2016 American Music Awards, after all.
The “Hands to Myself” singer, who has been away from the spotlight since August, may be making an appearance at the awards show on Sunday (Nov. 20, 2016). The show’s producer, Larry Klein, told E! News that Gomez may just show up, while other sources confirm she’ll be there.
Two months ago, Gomez revealed that she would be taking a break from music to focus on her health. “As many of you know, around a year ago I revealed that I have lupus, an illness that can affect people in different ways,” Gomez wrote. “I’ve discovered that anxiety, panic attacks and depression can be side effects of lupus, which can present their own challenges.”
However, in October, the 24-year-old checked into rehab for the second time to give herself time to cope with the mental health effects of lupus. If she does show up on Sunday, this will be Gomez’s first public appearance since. Maybe, the AMAs will be her official comeback.
