Johnny Depp is using his celebrity to give support to The Voice Project’s latest campaign, “Imprisoned for Act” which aims to bring awareness to raise money to support freedom of speech.

For it’s latest campaign, Depp posed for a fake mugshot to show support for Ukrainian filmmaker Oleg Sentsov. Sentsov was sentenced to 20 years in prison after being convicted of conspiracy to commit terror attacks by Russian military court in 2015, for his role in fighting the Crimea annexation.

“Freedom of Expression — it’s easy to take it for granted until it’s gone,” the Voice Project said in a statement. “We speak up for those who speak out, for those imprisoned around the globe for having raised their voice in dissent. We have to stand up for each other, no matter the distance, no matter the borders. You never know when you’ll need the same in return.”
