Anna Faris Accused of Neglecting Her Adopted Dog
Anna Faris is in the dog house after a pet she adopted — a Chihuahua named Pete — was found homeless and emaciated on the streets of Los Angeles.
Kinder4Rescue founder Laurel Kinder told TMZ that their animal rescue received a call about Pete on Friday (Nov. 18, 2016) from a vet after someone had brought the dog into a local clinic. According to the veterinarian, Pete was in bad shape and Faris’ name came up when they ran his microchip, alerting them to contact the animal shelter.
Sources told the outlet that Faris and her husband, Chris Pratt, were out of town when Pete was discovered wandering the street and are planning to make arrangements for the dog to be returned to the rightful owner. The insiders added that the couple have found a “nice family home” for the small canine.
The actress is now facing a $5,000 fine for allegedly breaching her adoption contract, which she signed five years ago stating that she will pay a fee if she ever turned Pete to a new owner. Kinder claims Faris agreed to the clause so the agency could always keep track of where the animal ends up.
Faris has reportedly been placed on a do-not-adopt list for the time being. To get off the list and have the fine dropped, Faris must prove that Pete had been lost and that she has been actively looking for him.
