Ashton Kutcher spoke Saturday night at a panel during the Aibnb Open 2016 about his unique experience using the home-sharing service.

According to People, Kutcher, an investor in Airbnb, told CEO Brian Chesky that after his divorce from Demi Moore, he didn’t have a home of his own and lived in Airbnbs for a year. One experience in particular, he said, changed his perspective on relationships.

“I went to Europe and I flew in and got in in the middle of the night. I arrived at the Airbnb at 2 a.m. The person had left me dinner and a glass of wine… I was shocked that someone would care that much about a total stranger.”

The actor says the gesture was exactly the “magic” he needed at that moment after losing his marriage and his home.

The “magic” seems to have done the trick. Since then, he began dating and eventually married former co-star Mila Kunis. They share a daughter and are now expecting a boy.
