Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Receive a Hypothetical Honeymoon Offer in Antigua
This week, Prince Harry is touring seven Caribbean countries on behalf of the Queen. Yesterday (Nov. 21, 2016), his itinerary included a visit to a youth sporting event in Antigua, where he played several sports with the kids in attendance. Then, Harry joined the island nation’s Prime Minister Gaston Browne (pictured above) for a reception, where the prince received a very special invitation.
“I am told that there may be a princess,” Browne said to Harry in front of hundreds of guests, via the BBC. “I just want to say that should you make the decision to honeymoon – then Antigua and Barbuda want to welcome you.”
Browne was referencing Harry’s romance with the American actress Meghan Markle, best known for her role on the USA show Suits. The couple went public with their relationship earlier this month and, just last week, Harry reportedly introduced Markle to his older brother and the future king, Prince William.
“We have been voted consistently as the best honeymoon destination in the Caribbean – and one of the best in the world,” Browne continued. “So there will be nowhere in the world as special to spend your honeymoon, when that day arrives.”
Who knows when or if the prince and his new girlfriend will be tying the knot, but they clearly won’t be lacking for destinations to escape to afterward.
