Dancing With the Stars has chosen its Season 23 winner. Olympic gymnast Laurie Hernandez and her partner, Val Chmerkovskiy, took home the Mirror Ball Trophy on Tuesday (Nov. 22, 2016).

“I just want to thank everyone for the support and riding along this crazy roller coaster of my life,” the 16-year-old said on the show minutes after winning the trophy. “My goal is just to inspire others as I go on with my journey, and thanks for being there for me.”

She and Chmerkovskiy scored a perfect 40 of 40 on their last dance of the competition, a fusion foxtrot/Argentine tango that was also the last overall dance of the night.

Runner ups were IndyCar driver James Hinchcliffe and ex-Detroit Lions receiver Calvin Johnson.

As the youngest competitor ever on the show, Hernandez was a clear favorite throughout the competition, and was praised by the judges for her incredible learning capacity and skills. In fact, she will actually be joining the Dancing with the Stars tour that will be staged in a few months.
