Tidal Sued for Pregnancy Discrimination
A former Tidal employee has filed a lawsuit against Jay Z’s company for allegedly firing her over a request for a private room where she could use her breast pump. Lisette Paulson claims the day after made her request in 2015, she was fired.
According to TMZ, Paulson says it was Jay’s trusted confidante and Tidal’s Chief Operating Officer Desiree Perez who responded to her request by asking her to use the bathroom, but Paulson refused.
Sources claim that Perez was annoyed with Paulson for needing an office to use her breast pump. She reportedly told the new mom that they’d discuss it the next day, but that’s when she was let her go.
Paulson is claiming this violated her rights under the Fair Labor Standards Act and New York state laws.
