WATCH: Jimmy Fallon and His Favorite ‘Gilmore Girls’ Cast Members Guess the Last Four Words of ‘A Year in the Life’

Gilmore Girls stan Jimmy Fallon sat down with Scott Patterson, Liza Weil, and Sean Gunn on The Tonight Show to figure out how A Year in the Life will sign off.

Given that the show’s creator, Amy Sherman-Palladino, revealed that the last four words of the series’ Netflix revival allowed her to end the show the way that she intended it to end, Fallon asked his favorite Gilmore Girls characters (barring Rory and Lorelai) to spill the beans about what they are. The cast members were not very helpful since only Patterson actually knows how it ends, but Luke, Kirk, and Paris were all eager to offer suggestions.

“Maybe it’s ‘Kirk is your overlord,’” said Gunn, while Patterson said that he told Palladino that the four words should be, “‘Drop the gun, Kirk.'”

Patterson added that the actual line is “more philosophical” than their pitches.

“‘Stars Hollow never existed,’” suggested Fallon after hearing that note. “Like this whole thing is in a snow globe and that’s the way it ends.”
