Here’s Why Michael Phelps Secretly Wed Before the Olympics
The Olympic swimmer revealed that it had everything to do with the well-being of his family. “We wanted to try to make it as smooth as we could for [Nicole and Boomer] to travel,” he told USA Today on Monday night (Nov. 21, 2016).
The couple had a “small, private ceremony” in their backyard in June. “It was small,” Michael added. “It was our closest friends and family there. It was perfect.”
Meanwhile, Michael, making his first public appearance since his secret marriage, walked the red carpet at the 2016 Golden Goggle Awards with his wife and son, Boomer.
So now that the 28-time gold medalist has officially retired, what will he do with his time? Nicole said more babies are a possibility. “Of course we have plans for a second baby!” she told People. “I don’t have one right now, but we are so looking forward to more.”
“I’m sure our next one will be crazy like Boomer!” she added. “We can’t wait.”
