Love watching the Oscars? Of course you do! The speeches, the gowns, the jokes that fall flat… there’s always something special to remember. And now you’ve got one more reason to be amped for the glitzy night because talk-show host Jimmy Kimmel has officially been tapped to host the awards show next year.

“Yes, I’m hosting the Oscars. This is not a prank. And if it is, my revenge on @TheAcademy will be terrible & sweet,” he tweeted today in response to the avalanche of rumors.

Kimmel is a veteran when it comes to officiating awards shows. He’s hosted the Emmys, the ESPYs and was the host of American Music Awards from 2003-2008.

The nominees for the 89th Academy Awards will be announced Jan. 24, 2017, and the ceremony will air on Feb. 26 on ABC.
