Chris Pratt Did This to Your Food Back When He Was a Waiter

Chris Pratt may be adhering to a strict diet these days, but he wasn’t always so picky when it came to food. In fact, he would’ve gladly chowed down on your half-eaten dinner.

During his latest appearance on The Graham Norton Show, the Passengers actor confessed to eating his customer’s leftovers during his time as a server in Beverly Hills. Working at a restaurant that “tried to be” fancy, Pratt revealed that he would eat the scraps from people’s plates to make up for the fact that he was only making $20 to $30 a day.

“It was a terrible restaurant,” he admitted. “It was just awful. I was a major contributing factor to how terrible this restaurant was. It was just real garbage.”

However, his scheme was eventually foiled when someone asked for their leftover steak to be packed away after Pratt had eaten it in a place he called “the safe zone,” a hallway between the dining room and the kitchen where he could easily pick at remains without being judged. As he had just finished it, Pratt had to tell a little white lie to get out of trouble.

“I said, ‘I’m so sorry. I already threw it in the trash,” he recalled. When the diner told him that it was for her dog and he could just “fish it out” from the garbage, Pratt was caught in a web of his own lies. He remembered that he eventually had to ask the cook to cook another one on the spot to cover up his mistake.

“I was so full of shit,” he said, explaining that he had to lie to the patron that he was going to go dumpster diving for the steak as its replacement was secretly being cooked. “She ended up being so, like, happy that I would be willing to dig through the garbage for her dog that she gave me a giant tip.”

He added, “And she left early because she couldn’t wait for the steak to be done so I got another steak!”

At least he didn’t get into this much trouble when he was a mural-painting dishwasher at a pizzeria!
