Lauren Graham on Falling In Love with Her ‘Parenthood’ Co-Star
Lauren Graham is most well-known for her role as single mother Lorelai Gilmore on Gilmore Girls, but it was a totally different show, on which she played a different single mom, that changed her life for the better.
While playing Sarah Braverman, an unconventional single mom much like Lorelai, on Parenthood, Graham met and fell in love with Peter Krause, who played her brother on the show. Despite having a very strict rule about not dating handsome Hollywood-types, breaking the rules paid off big time for the actress. “We couldn’t stop talking,” she told Good Housekeeping of their connection. “Not about ourselves, but about the world and books and family.”
“Once we got together, there was no game play,” the cover star remembered. “It was like, You like me, and I like you. It gave me an understanding of life: This is how things happen, and it’s completely random.”
“It’s not a big, loud life,” she said of her relationship. “We have a lot of neighbors, people come by, we’re with Peter’s son a lot and we keep it small.” But when they’re not keeping it small, Graham loves to bust out her secret talent. “I really like to entertain. None of my characters ever cook, so I would think it’s surprising that I actually really like to,” she confessed.
