Macklemore and Ryan Lewis’ ‘Thrift Shop’ Joins the Billion Views Club on YouTube

Macklemore and Ryan Lewis“Thrift Shop” now has more than one billion views on YouTube.

The rapper celebrated the milestone on Wednesday (Dec. 7, 2016) by posting a photo on Instagram, thanking everyone who contributed to the success of the music video.

“It started with an idea, a $5,000 budget and a community of folks that lent us their stores, clothes, cars, time, energy & love. It now has a billion plays. 1,000,000,000. Who could have ever imagined,” Macklemore wrote alongside a screenshot. “Thank you all.”

As of now, “Thrift Shop” is now the 38th most viewed video of all time. Other music videos on the most viewed YouTube list include Calvin Harris and Rihanna’s “This Is What You Came For,” which reached one billion views earlier this month.
