Matthew McConaughey Is Totally Down for ‘True Detective’ Season 3

Matthew McConaughey isn’t ready to close the books on True Detective just yet.

The Oscar winner, who played Detective Rustin “Rust” Cohle on the HBO crime anthology, is willing to do a third season of the series. Speaking on The Rich Eisen Show, McConaughey admits he’s “open to it for sure” when it comes to producing more episodes.

“I hear that all the time now,” McConaughey says of talks about Season 3. “I’ve talked to the creator Nic Pizzolatto, who’s taking a little break from it. But again, if that thing was written well and it came up again, I wouldn’t hesitate for a second.”

While McConaughey did not star in the show’s second season, he did remain as one of its executive producers alongside his onscreen partner, Woody Harrelson.

Currently, True Detective is under hiatus.
