Prince Harry Met Meghan Markle’s Dad

Prince Harry reportedly met the father of his girlfriend, Meghan Markle, but did he get dad’s stamp of approval?

Thomas Markle Jr., Meghan’s older half-brother, told the Mail Online that Prince Harry’s meeting with Thomas Markle Sr. took place during one of Prince Harry’s visits to Toronto, Canada before their relationship was public knowledge. “My dad knew about (the relationship) from the start,” Thomas Jr. told the publication. “He first met Prince Harry about six months ago out in Toronto. He goes once every couple of months.”

Thomas Jr. added that Meghan and her father are very close and that they stay “in close contact.”

“He’s pretty happy about Harry and he’s extremely proud of her,” Thomas Jr. added on the behalf of his father. “They have an amazing relationship, they’re very close and they always have been.”

Thomas Jr. wasn’t sure if Prince Harry had met their mother.

“She’s very much in love and she’s obviously happy because if she wasn’t happy, she wouldn’t be there,” continued Meghan’s half-brother. “So she is happy and [the relationship is] taking off, which is good, and I wish them all the best. I couldn’t be happier for her … As long as he takes care of and loves Meg, he doesn’t have to do anything else – although I would like to shake his hand and meet him.”

It’s believed that Prince Harry and Meghan began dating in May of 2016, but their relationship didn’t become public knowledge until November, later that year. Though they spent Christmas apart, Prince Harry visited Markle in Toronto at the end of his Royal tour of the Caribbean.

“Meghan is already accomplished in life and now there’s this on top of it,” Thomas Jr. added. “I mean it’s every girl’s dream to become a princess but she never said anything about it. She did like Cinderella and The Little Mermaid but she never had a Prince Harry poster or anything like that. But still, I think she fits the bill more than anyone.’
